Well yesterday I turned 50. I woke up with a positive outlook and the day was great. It began with presents and cards, then off to work. Everyone was really friendly and wished me well. It has been a weekend of celebrations with the Rugby World Cup kicking off on Friday night, England vs Argentina on Saturday night and the Godley House Wake on Sunday. Birthday on Monday then Fire Brigade drinks on Tuesday. It has been a weekend to remember. 10 years ago I turned 40 (obviously), but when we woke on the 12th we were greeted with news from the 11th in the US. My 40th will always be associated with 9/11.
Thank you to everyone that remembered. It is wonderful to hear from friends back in the UK.
